Are Millennials The Living Dead?

Are Millennials The Living Dead?

What if the earth was actually flat? Or what if our bodies are a type of curse and when you die you become free? How comes there are different races if Adam and Eve were of the same color? And why the hell is being naked so illegal when you are actually born naked and all other animals walk around naked? A million questions but this article is not about those questions. Truth is, I do not have an answer yet but if you have any inch of clue, please comment and let me know. So, let us talk about the millennials.

Millennials

Living dead millennials… Interesting topic, right? Millennials and post millennials are basically living like zombies. We are always told what to do and how to do it by people who do not even understand what it is like to be us. That is why you will be stuck in a job that literally overworks you and pays you nothing. Then someone has the audacity to say that we are picky.

I dislike those people who come up with  stories of how they started little and that you should not aim high. Damn right I will aim high and while at it, I will build castles in the air. We are all different and our stories are different. The older adults, instead of telling us how we should get any type of jobs as long as they are jobs, and how we should spend time following rules that oppress every one else but the rich and powerful, should be telling us how we should use our skills to become owners, entrepreneurs and employers.

Survival for the fittest

But how can you become a boss or business owner when you have zero capital, no motivation and definitely zero support. That is where the human survival instinct kicks in.  Learn to go for what you want and remember that along the way you will face challenges. But you always have to be stronger and you need to have a thick skin because the world is cruel and life is unfair. To get what you want you have to be ready to experience difficult situations. You should be willing  to make tough decisions and to give yourself the tough love. No one knows what you want like you do and it is actually up to you to get it.

Speaking of knowing what you want, have you heard people say that they are taking time out to search themselves and improve their mental health? I honestly think that those statements are very ridiculous. Not to mention unrealistic.

Mental Health

Short story, I once decided to take a break from everyone to find myself and improve my mental health. Well, it took me less than a minute to find myself because I was already literally there. But I am still worried that I did not do it because some people take a whole week in some posh place finding themselves.

Thanks to some influencers and  people who do not know what they are talking about, I tried. I believed that I had to find myself in order for me to reach my potential. But really, how can you give medicine without instructions? Come on! Tell us how we should find ourselves too. Do I step into the spirit realm then start finding myself? Or what magic do I need to help me achieve this because finding myself is very unrealistic or very simple. Depends on the how.

Don’t!

Staying away from everyone to focus on mental health? This never worked for me either. You cannot take a break from everyone when you are not emotionally or mentally okay. You end up thinking and overthinking and this leads to stress, eating your emotions and being not okay(if that statement even makes sense).

We are living in a generation where we are told to speak out more often and get involved but rules and selfish leaders make it hard for us. But you might also want to note that if you want to be heard, you have to make people listen to you. I do not exactly know how but you need to figure out(if I figure it out, I will let you know).

Remember to always be yourself regardless of what other people think or want you to do. Your happiness matters. At the end of the day, we live once but we die once too. LIVE.

Happy new month and I hope this festive season brings you luck, joy, love and helps you become closer to those who you love. Maybe in the process, you will finally figure out how to find yourself(I insist, it is very ridiculous).

Next post is on Thursday.
